- Prevent infection & decay
- Stop teeth from crowding
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If your dentist recommends a wisdom tooth extraction, it is likely a preventative measure to keep the rest of your teeth safe. Wisdom teeth often grow in at an angle, crowding your existing teeth, or may remain only partially erupted and cause infection.
The extraction may be done under local anaesthetic. For more complicated extractions we may refer you to an Oral Surgeon, and there you do have the option of being asleep during the procedure. Recovery is usually quite quick–as fast as two or three days for simple removals.
