Is a bridge right for you?

Close the Gap and Protect the Teeth Around It

A missing tooth changes more than your smile. Neighbouring teeth drift into the space, your bite becomes uneven and chewing puts extra strain on the teeth that remain.

A bridge is a fixed, non-removable replacement. It uses the teeth on either side of the gap, or dental implants, as anchors to hold one or more custom replacement teeth firmly in place.

Types of bridges

Bridge Options We Offer

We recommend the design that best protects your long-term oral health.

Traditional Bridge

Crowns on the neighbouring teeth support the replacement tooth between them.

Implant-Supported Bridge

Dental implants anchor the bridge, so neighbouring teeth are left untouched.

Natural-Looking Materials

Custom-shaded ceramic blends in with your natural teeth.

Built to Last

With good care and regular checkups, a bridge can serve you for many years.

The process

How a Dental Bridge Is Made

Digital planning keeps every step precise and comfortable.

Exam and imaging

We check the health of the teeth and bone around the gap with digital X-rays and 3D imaging.

Preparation

The supporting teeth are gently shaped and a digital scan captures your bite, with no messy impressions.

Custom bridge

Your bridge is designed to match the shape and shade of your natural teeth.

Fitting and follow-up

We fit and adjust the bridge for a comfortable bite and show you how to care for it.

Dental Bridge Questions

How long does a dental bridge last?
With good brushing, flossing under the bridge and regular checkups, a bridge can last many years. We check it at every visit.
Is getting a bridge painful?
The teeth are numbed before any preparation, so most patients feel little more than pressure. Mild sensitivity afterwards usually settles within a few days.
Should I choose a bridge or an implant?
An implant replaces the root and does not rely on neighbouring teeth, while a traditional bridge uses them for support. We will explain the pros, cons and costs of each for your situation.
How do I clean under a bridge?
Brush twice a day and use floss threaders, a water flosser or small interdental brushes to clean under the replacement tooth. Our hygienists will show you how.
Is a bridge covered by insurance?
Many plans cover part of the cost of a bridge. We direct bill most insurance plans, follow the BCDA Fee Guide and welcome Canadian Dental Care Plan patients.
